In the Sheptytskyi community, the project “Just Transition in Action: Coordinating Community Efforts for Sustainable Development” has been launched. This initiative was made possible thanks to funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

We are sincerely grateful to our partners for the opportunity to implement systemic changes that will contribute to the implementation of just transition policies.

Thanks to this support, we are starting to work on strengthening the capacity of the Agency as a specialized institution that provides professional support for transformational processes in our region.

The project includes ensuring the sustainable operation of the Agency and providing systematic support to the Sheptytskiy City Council in the processes of just transition. A separate area of the project concerns raising awareness among residents and their active involvement in just transition processes. Information and educational activities are planned, including on energy efficiency of housing, the use of alternative heating sources, environmental protection, and waste sorting.

An important component of the project will be the implementation of a monitoring tool for the implementation of the Just Transition Action Plan, which will provide the community and partners with constant access to up-to-date information on the progress of the planned activities.
