How the JTA is planning to transform the city
How We Work: The Transformation Model for the Chervonohrad Urban Territorial Community
Just transition is not an abstract concept. It involves concrete actions aimed at improving the community’s quality of life, providing development opportunities, and ensuring it isn’t left behind by global changes. But what do these actions look like in practice? How exactly does the Just Transition Agency work to make Sheptytskyi the industrial heart of the Lviv region?
We use a simple yet effective model that helps focus on the key development areas for the Community. These are Business, Talents, and Visitors – three components that together create the foundation for a new, sustainable future.
Business: Supporting Those Who Create Jobs
A strong community cannot exist without strong businesses. Therefore, one of our main focuses is fostering entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and assisting in the creation of new production facilities. We are already working on launching an industrial park in Sheptytskyi – a space where new enterprises will emerge, jobs will be created, and local businesses will have the opportunity to grow.
The Agency helps businesses with more than just financing. We seek partners, assist with retraining, and provide consultations on new industries: processing, logistics, green energy. We aim to make Sheptytskyi a community where investors come with confidence in the future.
Talents: Developing the People Who Will Drive Change
A strong city is, above all, built by strong people. We work to ensure that young people have incentives to stay in Sheptytskyi, building their careers and lives here. The Agency helps create development opportunities – from professional internships to non-formal educational programs.
Community transformation is impossible without transforming opportunities for its people. We want the youth in Sheptytskyi to see their future right here.
Visitors: Opening Sheptytskyi to the World
Tourism is an opportunity to show others what the Community is about. It’s not just about historical sites. It’s about an economy that comes alive when people visit. Sheptytskyi has unique potential: its mining heritage, natural landscapes, kayaking routes on the Western Bug River, local craft cheese dairies, and farms.
We are working to make these opportunities known, so tourists discover Sheptytskyi as a place for travel, relaxation, and exploration. And this means new jobs, new businesses, and new recognition for our community.
Business, Talents, Visitors – these are not separate directions; they are parts of a single system. Supporting business means providing jobs for people. Developing talents means supplying enterprises with skilled personnel. Opening the Community to visitors reinforces both previous areas.
The future is being created today. Become part of the change with the Agency.
