The event served as a platform for a wide-ranging dialogue among representatives of the Ukrainian and German governments, international financial institutions, leading businesses, and the civil society sector. Participants focused primarily on strategic issues: how to ensure the resilience of the domestic power grid amid the war while simultaneously preparing the sector for full integration into the European Union’s energy market.

During the meeting, international partners noted the unprecedented level of support for Ukraine from Germany, whose aid to the energy sector has already exceeded 1.2 billion euros. Discussions centered on the development of renewable energy, the implementation of energy storage technologies, and the significant export potential of Ukrainian biomethane, which is particularly relevant for the transformation of coal-producing regions.

The speakers paid special attention to the importance of decentralization and the creation of a sustainable energy system that would be as fully integrated into the European energy space as possible. Participants discussed the reform of centralized heat supply and the need to strengthen local energy hubs.
