Why is Tourism Part of the Transformation?
Tourism allows the community’s history, nature, and culture to be transformed into a source of development. It means new jobs, small business growth, and attracting investment. But most importantly, it supports local identity and provides an opportunity to tell our story to the world.
Sheptytskyi has everything needed to become a tourist magnet in the Lviv region:
- Industrial Heritage: Mining sites, a mining training ground.
- Water Tourism: Kayaking trips on the Western Bug River, which are already attracting tourists’ attention.
- Cultural and Sacred Monuments: The Potocki Palace, ancient churches, and cemeteries.
- Ecotourism: Craft farms, tasting tours, gastronomic tourism.
What is the Agency Doing for Tourism Development?
- Promoting the Community’s Potential: We have already begun working on shaping a new image for Sheptytskyi – as a place for short trips, new discoveries, and unique routes.
- Supporting Local Tourism Entrepreneurs: From kayaking organizers to craft producers – we help them find resources, develop their businesses, and attract tourists.
- Developing New Tourism Products: Together with businesses and the community, we are working on creating gastronomic routes, cycling tours, and industrial excursions.
- Building Partnerships: We cooperate with Lviv tourist agencies, the Lviv Regional State Administration, and other partners to ensure Sheptytskyi becomes part of Ukraine’s tourist maps.
