- Economic Diversification and Business Development. The Community is already working on attracting investment, establishing an industrial park, and creating new enterprises. New manufacturing facilities, logistics centers, and green energy projects are expected to emerge here.
- Human Capital Development. Just transition isn’t only about the economy. It’s about people. Young individuals need to see prospects for staying and working here. That’s why the plan includes developing educational programs, retraining coal sector workers, and creating opportunities for self-fulfillment.
- Environmental Protection and Green Transition. The past has left an environmental footprint. The transition involves cleaning up this legacy and developing green energy. Solar and wind power plants, along with energy-efficient solutions, represent the new direction for development.
Who is Implementing the Transformation?
The Chervonohrad Urban Territorial Community has a Plan, but its implementation requires a coordinator of change – the Just Transition Agency. This is a team dedicated to helping find funding, supporting businesses, and working with young people and residents, explaining that the transition is not about losses, but about gains. It serves as the platform where businesses, the community, and international partners collaborate.
