Development and grant opportunities for IDPs. Human capital as a driver of change in the community
Creating new opportunities for community residents is the foundation of just transformation. That is why a meeting with internally displaced persons was held at the Just Transition Space, dedicated to grant opportunities and project management. In addition, we discussed in detail how the Just Transition Plan can become a practical tool for new residents.
We emphasized that this document is a source of valuable data for planning one’s own business. Understanding the direction of the community, IDPs can analyze the market, generate their own ideas, and understand where the community is headed in the coming years.
Special attention was paid to current opportunities and tools for supporting small businesses, including the state program “Own Business” and other small business support tools. Participants learned about the specific conditions for obtaining financing, obligations to create new jobs, and received explanations on how the professional experience of IDPs can become part of the economic development of our community.
The Just Transition Agency team offered partnership support for the community, which may include professional consultations, assistance in preparing project documentation, and assistance in finding partners for the implementation of future initiatives. We admire the activity and determination of the new residents of our community, who, despite all the difficulties, continue to move forward and seek new opportunities for implementation.
Conducting training sessions for various target groups within the community as part of the project increases the competence of community members in key aspects of just transition. Involving internally displaced persons in grant programs and entrepreneurial initiatives is a necessary component of the community’s economic sustainability, allowing new experiences and competencies to be integrated into sustainable development processes.
The event was held as part of the project “Just Transition in Action: Coordinating Community Efforts for Sustainable Development,” implemented by the Just Transition Agency with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie) and support from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
